Hot plate for a corrugated double facer is a specialized heating device used in the production of corrugated cardboard or paperboard. It is an integral part of a double facer machine, which is responsible for bonding the linerboards (the outer layers) to the corrugated medium (the wavy middle layer) to create a strong and rigid corrugated board.

The hot plate in a corrugated double facer is designed to provide controlled and uniform heat to the corrugated board as it passes through the machine. It is typically made of a durable and heat-resistant material, such as stainless steel or cast iron, and is divided into multiple heating zones.

The hot plate is heated to a specific temperature, typically ranging from 180 to 220 degrees Celsius (356 to 428 degrees Fahrenheit). As the corrugated board moves through the double facer, it passes over the hot plate, and the heat is transferred to the linerboards and the corrugated medium.

The heat serves several purposes in the double facer process. First, it softens the adhesive, usually a starch-based glue, applied to the linerboards. This allows the adhesive to become tacky and bond with the corrugated medium. The heat also helps to evaporate any moisture present in the board, enhancing the bonding process and improving the final board's dimensional stability.
