Vip Core Material Description

VIP core materials mainly include four categories: granular core materials, foam core materials, fiber core materials, and composite core materials. The core material is the skeleton of the VIP, which plays a role in supporting the VIP and ensuring the long-term service of the VIP and is also a key factor determining the thermal insulation performance of the VIP. Usually, the heat transfer in the core mainly depends on the solid heat conduction of the core itself, the heat conduction, and heat convection between the residual gas in the VIP. Inside the core material, when the mean free path of the gas molecules is greater than the pore diameter of the core material, the occurrence of gas heat conduction and heat convection can be prevented. In order to meet this requirement, the core material of the VIP board generally uses a porous structure with high thermal resistance to ensure low solid heat conduction inside the core material. The porous structure hinders the heat conduction of the gas inside the core material and limits the movement space of the residual gas in the VIP. The smaller the pore size of the core material and the more uniform the distribution, the more beneficial it is to improve the thermal insulation performance and prolong the service life of the VIP. Therefore, lightweight core materials with low cost, high thermal resistance, and better microstructure are the preferred core materials for high-performance VIPs.
