Work Principles Of Candle Filter

Candle filters combine multiple porous filter elements in a sealed container, with filter cloth (or other filter media) wrapped around the filter element.

During filtration, the slurry is pumped into the filter, and the liquid phase in the slurry passes through the filter medium and enters the center of the porous

filter element, and is collected and discharged at the net liquid outlet. Before the filter cake layer is formed, the discharged "clean liquid" returns to the

original slurry inlet for recirculation and filtration until the filter cake layer is formed (meeting filtration requirements). Then a signal is provided to control

the stop of the clean liquid circulation, and then sent to the next process through the three-way valve for normal filtration. After a period of normal filtration,

when the filter cake layer on the porous candle wick reaches a certain thickness, a signal is sent to control the feeding (stop), and then the residual liquid in

the filter is discharged. After discharge, a signal is provided to control the backwash port (compressed air , nitrogen or saturated steam) for backwashing to

remove the filter cake. After backwashing for a certain period of time, the backwashing will stop and a signal will be sent to open the filter slag discharge port

for slag discharge. After the slag discharge is completed, the slag discharge port is closed and returned to the initial state before filtration to prepare for the

next round of filtration.
